Nancy Rosas, Washington Park UCC's Christian Education Minister. She is a Latina woman from Central America who has explored, lived and expressed her faith serving through a variety of ministries within the church and in the communities where she has lived both in Central America and in the US. Her love and passion for God, life, peace, and justice comes from what her parents, a minister couple, modeled for her; from the reality she lived and witnessed in Central America and in US border states; and from her childhood church's joy and celebration of the presence, gifts, and participation of children and youth in the ministry of the church.
Nancy is a recent graduate of the Iliff School of Theology here in Denver, where she received the degree of Master in Divinity. Her work includes: children, youth, and women's ministry; educator in urban and rural areas of Guatemala in the areas of community organization, self-development for people, spiritual and theological formation, as well as coordination of immersion work in the reality of Central America for US delegations. In the United States her work includes: education on the human rights and socio-religious reality in Central America; education on justice issues based on a model of mutuality and reconciliation between churches and organizations in the US and Central America; working with Latin American immigrants in the US in the areas of organization, self-development, health issues, and on human and immigrant rights. The last three years, she has worked as the director of the women's program at a non-profit organization in Denver where she also has served leading worship services and providing pastoral care for Latino/a immigrants in the Metro Denver area.
Currently Nancy is on the path towards ordained ministry within the United Church of Christ.
